RELEASE NOTES per l’INSTALLAZIONE
- You must have Spb Mobile Shell 2.1 installed in your phone.
- If you don’t have your phone registry configured for 9 icons, use the the cab included to enable the 9 icon program menu, don’t forget to enable to display all icons by checking all the 9 boxes in the Spb MS Customization Menu settings.
- Copy all the files included in the SpbWM7HELU to your Spb Mobile Shell folder in the Programs directory and softreset your device. Is recommended that before copying the files you exit first the Spb MS application.
- You just started the installation, the following steps are necessary to complete the theme set up as intended:
- Press the Windows Orb icon to go to the Now Screen, you´ll find an icon below the Status icons at the left., tap and hold this icon and choose “Pinned Management” and expand the “Organizer” group,
check the “Calendar” box and tap OK, now you have a new Calendar icon. - Now tap “Start” and go to the Spb MS settings by tapping on its icon (The gear icon in the middle row at the far right) and then tap in the Customization Menu, tap and hold in “My Menu” and choose “Add” “File”. Expand the Windows directory and scroll down until find a file called “wrlsmgr.exe”, tap on it and then press “OK”. Now you have added the “wrlsmgr” to “My Menu”, tap ad hold in “wrlsmgr” and choose “Edit” and Select to change the icon, you may want to choose the last whiteish icon in the list, tap on it and the press OK until you get to the WM Today screen, now go back to the Now screen and tap and hold on the icon beside the speaker icon and proceed as in step “a” but now checking the box of “wrlsmgr” in the My Menu group, press OK and you have your new icon displayed.
- Now go to the Contacts page and tap and hold the icon beside the speaker, and choose Spb Contacts, now you have a shortcut for your phonebook at the top bar.
- Configure your Pro screen such it display alarm always and Calendar in Auto, in the same way configure the Classic to analog clock mode and to display appointments. (NOTE: By design the digital clock for the classic screen is disabled, it will never be displayed)
- Now, you are ready to roll !!
- The wrlsmgr.exe is an alternate Comm Manager and is a standard program part of almost any version of Windows Mobile, if you don´t find it in your device you will not be able to have this feature, although you may use the shortcut for any other application resident in your phone.
- Note that in the Now screen pressing the Calendar icon and the appointment description perform different functions, as in the previous point #6 you may use this shortcut to another application if you find it somehow redundant.
- The theme supports Spb Smart Profiles, the full set of icons can be found in the installation package into de folder Profiles (Replace your existent profiles.dat file with the one provided into your Spb Smart Profiles folder in the Programs directory of your phone).
- Please keep in mind that this is a modification of the original Spb version all the graphics and function changes demand memory of your device, do not expect to have a fast and smooth operation and same memory consumption as in the original Spb release.
- We use for this theme a font height size of 14pxl, this provides a better readability but it takes longer spaces for the words, that´s the case of alarm (you can always edit the SpbMobileShell.txt file in your device to abbreviate words or delete them) and appointments where you have to limit the description to fit your screen width.
- In an effort to enhance the appearance most of the pages are coded to use the font “SegoeUI”, given the screen resolution the change is not significant. It´s up to you to add the SegoeUI to your Font directory in Windows if you decide to us, however keep in mind that if afterwards for some reason you change your mind and decide to go back to the use of the Tahoma font, the SegoeUI file removal is too complicated and may lead you to uninstall Spb MS and possible the need to hard reset your device.
- In the Pro Now screen you can change the legend “Your City” to your own, you need to edit the following part of the script
Screenlock,xml file in the Layouts.dat
<Plugin Class=”Spb.LSP.Text” Name=”MyCity”>
<String Name=”Text” Value=”Your City”/>
<Font Name=”TextFont” Face=”segoeui” HeightPxl=”14″
Bold=”y”/>
</Plugin>
If you don´t know how to handle encryption and Decryption of xml
files read the tutorial in this link :
http://rapidshare.com/files/118934310/Tutorial_Encryption_XMLs.pdf - If you you´re a D Pad or scroll wheel fan to navigate from icon to icon, you´ll find out this set up is not so smooth as others.
- Although the battery and signal strength indicators have 10 segments, they don´t represent increments / decrements of 10% necessarily, this is due to the limitations of Windows Mobile and /or Spb MS. The power bar will not display if you are connected to an external power source. The signal bar will not display if you are not receiving signal from your operator, any other state like flight mode, no sim, wrong sim, etc. will prevent the bar to show.
- We´ll be glad to help to resolve any problem you may find with the use of this theme or if you need to change something, however please don´t ask about adding extra pages or how to blend pages from other themes in this one, we thought this theme as is and we don´t plan to add any other page, except for the Landscape support that might be released if the users demonstrate enough interest and encourage us to do so.

Abejon, scusa, dove l’hai messo il profiles.dat?
Grazie.
comment | July 18, 2008 at 13:37 | individual comment-link
ehm..non l’ho messo anche perchè non ho una cartella spb smart profile nella cartella programmi! perchè dovrebbe cambiare qualcosa?anche quel file segoeUI?
comment | July 18, 2008 at 13:59 | individual comment-link
AH ecco ok.

ciao a tutti.
